This semester I attended a networking event that was held at
a Washington Wizards game. I thoroughly
enjoyed this event because we were able to talk with people were leading the
sales and marketing teams for the Wizards.
We learned about different partnerships and I was able to tie in my past
experience with Red Bull GRC as they were similar. I have been interested in working in
marketing for one of the big four sports and this only made me more hungry to
get a position in this field. While I
don’t have experience with a traditional sport such as basketball I hope that
my experience from over the summer will be able to help me because it is very
related to the work being done.
Obviously getting to watch the game was great but being able to network
in this area made it exponentially better.
I was not able to take a picture while networking because that would
obviously be a rude mistake, but it was done through the GWSB and was able to
get a picture of the game afterword! If
there would be one thing that I would change about this experience, it would
just be to make it a little bigger, there were only a couple of people from the
marketing company that came to network and obviously when it comes to
networking the more people to meet the better.
