Course Reflection- Sydney

One of the most important takeaways that I had from this course is in relation to revenue management. I found the webinar on this topic to be informative. Specifically, the parts the focused on the building blocks of revenue management, and the different elements that are involved for successful revenue management. Furthermore, I believe this topic to be extremely useful, despite which sector of hospitality one is interested in.

My second top learning from this class involves the concept of branding and the importance of personal branding. I believe this is also a concept that can be applied to many areas of the hospitality industry. The Best Western case was a great example of the importance of branding on both a local and international level.

Another top takeaway from this course was the lesson about ethics in the workplace. The champagne mini-case was a good example of this that made class participation very interesting. Because there are many issues that occur in the business world that will challenge personal ethics, I found this class to be very important. Additionally, it was particularly interesting to see how other classmate's ideas of ethics could vary so much from person to person.
