Capitol Hill Reception Volunteer- Sydney

Last night, I volunteered at a Christmas reception on Capitol Hill. Because I had previously interned there, I was able to reach out and volunteer for the event. The reception hosted Congressmen and their staff and families. Specifically, I helped out with setting up food and beverage for the event. My main priority was to ensure that everything was restocked and the food was appropriately organized. This was a great opportunity to use the experience I had with working in food and beverage at my current internship and apply that knowledge to this event. It was interesting to see the similarities between this volunteer opportunity and the banquet event orders I helped to fulfill at my internship. Additionally, it was great catching up with staff from my old office and networking with new people.
