Recently, I had the pleasure to go
to BLT Steak, a Gordon Ramsey restaurant, with my grandparents and brothers. This
is one of the best dining experiences I have ever had and it was not just
because of the delicious food. However, it was because of the service that we received.
We were constantly being helped, dishes being take, water glasses refilled, and
it was all without even asking single request.
I would compare it to how we were taught about
the difference of service between Ritz-Carlton and a J.W. Marriott, being that
Ritz is very much upfront how they want to bring the best service possible
while employees at a J.W. Marriott hotel take it more in the “behind-the-scenes”
direction. At one point I went to the bathroom and when I came back, my napkin
that I simply put on the table was folded back up nicely, my water glass
refilled, and my old plate and silverware taken away and replaced with a new plate
and silverware. The maître d’ came over to our table twice to make sure that
everything was in order and both times he was sure not to be too overbearing. That
goes double for our waiter who did the same.
Overall, BLT Steak was able to
provide a magnificent dinner with some of the best service I’ve seen from a restaurant.
The host staff, waiters, and kitchen were able to work together seamlessly to manifest into a very memorable experience.
