Dining Experience at El Chucho - Megan
Yesterday, I met two friends for happy hour and
dinner at El Chucho in Columbia Heights. El Chucho was recommended by one of my
friends’ boyfriends and, after checking reviews on Yelp, we were immediately
sold by the photos posted online by reviewers. We arrived right at opening so
the restaurant was empty and we were able to get a table in the upstairs patio.
This also meant that we had a waiter all
to ourselves and he was attentive without being overbearing throughout the
entire time we were there. El Chucho also offered really good happy hour deals
for their margaritas, which, as poor college students, we greatly appreciated. For
dinner, we enjoyed “street style” corn on the cob, chips and guacamole, and al
pastor and shrimp tacos. The only issue we had with our experience was that we
felt the happy hour deal for the tacos was not a good value. Regardless, both my
friends and myself really enjoyed El Chucho and would definitely recommend it
to anyone who is craving Mexican cuisine in a fun, hip, and intimate setting.
